Welcome to my blog. I was born and raised in Kenai, Alaska. Growing up in the beautiful state of Alaska, I have had the opportunity to experience and observe many amazing things. A few of my favorite experiences include the following; fishing/boating, hiking, tidepooling and going to the beach with my family.
Throughout my life, being athletic and active have always been an important influence in my life. The two main sports I grew up playing were ice hockey and soccer. In fact, I played hockey for 15 years, and soccer a few less than that. In hockey, my position was goalie, which I absolutely loved. Of the 15 years I played hockey I was goalie for 10 of those years. These sports have not only helped shape me into the person I am today, but have taught me valuable lessons and life skills that I now use in real life.
Although I could list off many, one of my favorite hobbies is to travel. Traveling is so fascinating because it allows me to get to explore many different locations. Which allows me to learn about the different cultures and communities around our world. Although reading information about a location is fine, traveling is a great way to get a first hand experience of how the many cultures differ from our own.
For as long as I can remember I have always enjoyed doing arts and crafts. I enjoy many different forms of art. One of my favorite types of art is Photography. I have always enjoyed the different perspectives and designs that is inside one photograph. Photography allows me to go back in time to when the photo was, and lets me to reminisce on that memory. The other types of art I enjoy are; painting, drawing, paper crafts, and pottery. I don’t own a specific piece of art, but I do enjoy going to art museums to admire the different forms and types of art. I also believe that traveling is also a great example of art. From getting to experience the different sculptures, and the beauties of the location, to the different vibe that the people let off.
I believe art is so important to our society because we are constantly seeing it in our daily lives and it’s shown in so many different ways. Most art forms allows the audience to decide what they believe the artist has meant by that piece, or what that piece means to them. I don’t attend first fridays, but I’m sure they are very interesting and intriguing.
As I was researching about the Non-western Era, I found out that there are many countries that are included in the non-western era, part of Africa being one of them. So for this blog I decided to focus on African art. I have always found the African art so intriguing. Each detail put into the pieces are so intricate and bring important details to the story behind the piece. These details always grab my attention. I love how the different cultures around the world have a unique way to tell their stories. African art is so interesting because they use unique materials and patterns to share their culture. I also read that they used art as a way to express their religious beliefs (PACE High School, 2019). I think art from Africa is so unique in its own way. Not only does it tell its own story, but I think it’s also special in the way that only the people immersed in that culture truly understand the stories of the art pieces.
This first piece caught my attention because of how each detail stuck out. To me, the piece is stating that these two people worked together to hold up the object on their heads. The material used for this piece also caught my attention. This piece is made of wood, which is so fascinating with the details they were able to put into it. This piece is so simple, but it can give the audience a chance to depict what they believe the message behind this piece is. While I was researching more on this piece, I found that this sculpture is about 17.5 cm in height and 17.2 cm in length. I thought that was really interesting to read, I like learning about the dimensions of sculptures because then it gives me an idea of the size of this sculpture.
Artist; Master of the Cascade Coiffure
Democratic Republic of Congo
I couldn’t find a specific date but learned it was created during the 19th century
This next piece is a similar form of art as the last one, and made my the same artist, but I really enjoyed how these sculptures are made. This piece is so interesting because it has so much detail. The part of the piece that stuck out to me was the unique beads around the woman’s neck. The beads add a meaning to the piece and I think it’s also a way to show respect or royalty. The beads make this beads stand out from the other pieces similar to this one. This piece is created in such a way that it creates peace and tranquility. This sculpture shows the culture of the people in Africa and also the materials that are important to them.

Democratic Republic of Congo
Created in the 19th century
I thought that this piece was very interesting. This piece is called the Raffia-fibre Cloth. I liked how the artist kept the colors simple. I thought it was neat that the fabric/material has different lengths on each strand, I was wondering if that was for a certain reason or just what the artist decided to do? I also really enjoyed the intricate detail on each strand. The different lines and shapes add a lot of meaning to this piece. I think it has important cultural symbols. Another part of this piece that stuck out to me was that the artist chose to close off one end of the fabric and allowed the other side to continue, as though it was a message to the audience.
Artist; Kuba
Democratic of the Congo
Made during the mid 20th century
This piece stuck out to me because of all the different materials used in this sculpture. While I was reading about this piece I learned that the materials in this piece consistent of; wood, horns, fibre, feathers and many more materials (Wiilet, 2018). I like how the different materials in this piece show that this figure is significant to the African culture, due to all the objects on this sculpture. In this piece, I like how each of the materials are different but bring the whole sculpture together as a whole. All the different materials used in this piece are placed on this piece in such a way that it makes the audience look at every angle. While reading about this piece, I learned that it was created by the Senufo people (Willet, 2018). Another part of this piece that stuck out to me when I first looked at this picture was that it seemed to be an important piece to the non-western culture expressed through their art. Religion and worshiping was and still is very important people to their culture. This piece shows respect and allows the ancestors to have a tribute. In the article I read, I found out that “kpelie masks” , like this one, are presented during a funeral to help the person transition to the “Ancestral Realm” (Hess, 2018). I thought that this mask showed a great example of how the African culture portrays their beliefs and respects.

Artist; I couldn’t find the exact artist, but I got this picture from the Encyclopedia Britannica
For this blog, choosing which era to write about was difficult because both Mid and Post Modern art is so fascinating and has so many influential experiences and emotions within each piece. Something I thought was so intriguing about these two lessons was how each photo allows the audience to feel connected to the piece. Mid and Post Modern art each share similarities but also have so many differences that make each one unique.
Overall, I decided to create my blog on Post Modern art pieces.
This piece stuck out to me because it was during this time era where film and the fashion industry was becoming much more popular. The clothes and style that this women has also adds a meaning behind this photo, showing that the clothing industry was also changing throughout this era as well. Another part of this piece that stuck out to me was that the picture was still in black and white, which also helps the audience determines the time period of this piece. The postmodern era was an important time for digital entertainment becoming more available and popular to the community. After researching more into this piece I learned that the lady in this photo was Cindy Sherman herself and was acting as an actress/model.
Untitled Film Still #21 (1978)
Artist; Cindy Sherman
I thought that this piece was another great example of Digital Entertainment. This piece was also created by Cindy Sherman. I noticed with this series of pieces that she created that she focuses on the many details in her photos. A specific detail that sticks out to me is the fashion that is in each piece. The different clothing pieces, such as the scarf, adds a dramatic effect to the photo itself, and helps bring the picture to life. I also like how Cindy chooses to make her models look away from the photographer which also adds more details to the story behind the photo.
Untitled Film Still 89 (1980)
Artist; Cindy Sherman
Although this piece was created in 1963 and the assignment asks for 1980, I thought that this was another great example of digital entertainment that was a significant piece of art in this era. Comics are a different type of art that I have studied before. However, comics are a creative and unique way for the artist to express their thoughts and ideas. Comics allow the artists to not only create their own story, but they also get to create their own images to go with their ideas. In this type of art, I think there are many differences between other types of art. In comics, the artist creates the backstory for the reader.
Whaam! (1963)
Artist; Roy Lichtenstein
This piece is different than the following pieces that I have chosen. This piece is simple, yet still unique in its own way. The simplicity of this photo shows the audience that a photo of entertainment doesn’t need to be super complex in order to have a great story. While I was researching more on this piece, the beautiful and elegant river was not alone. Each aspect of this photo shows what the artist believed was significant to this piece. I believe each artist added they detail that they believed would bring the audience entertainment.
The Rhine II (1999)
Artist; Andreas Gursky
The last photo I have chosen is closer to what many of us have seen today. Today, we are surrounded by digital entertainment that we don’t realize how much art is in everything that we do. For example, with our phones at our fingertips, we are able to quickly snap a photo of something that catches our eyes. Looking back on how far our technology has come, it also helps me realize how far the art eras have also developed so much over the years. Although there are many great ways to express art, I think photography is one of my favorites. It allows the photographer to capture the shot at the exact moment that they want and capture the story that they want to as well.

I ran out of time to find another image, but I believe that we will continue to see much development of digital entertainment,
I thought the Early Modern Era period was quite an interesting era to learn about. In this era, there were so many different styles, and breakthroughs for art. I enjoyed learning about this era because there were many different influences that created the art styles in this era, many of which we still see today. Early Modern Era art allows the audience to connect with the experiences that the countries have had to go through, which allowed artists to express their feelings and visions during this time.
The first image I chose for this blog is called “Landscape with a Bridge” by Picasso. In the lesson for this era, I learned that this style of artwork made its first appearance before WWI. This piece stuck out to me because of the style of artwork. The style is called Cubism. This style of art is so fascinating to me because of how the 3D shapes can make an image come to life. From looking at the different images drawn in the Cubism design, I can tell that the lines and edges are sharp and defined of the shapes. The colors and shadows allow each angle to pop out and make the whole image come together. In this image, I like how the idea behind this picture is kind of hidden behind each shape, but the different shapes allow me to find the main subject of the image. This picture is seen as a simple bridge, that looks to have a waterfall flowing beneath it. This piece has many fine qualities and the intricate details make this piece unique.
“Landscape with Bridge”
Pablo Picasso, 1909
I couldn’t find the exact location of this painting was created in, but my educated guess is Paris.
Another style of art from the Early Modern Era that I enjoyed was Photography. Personally, I really enjoy taking photos myself, so it made this style of art more interesting since I could connect to it. The image I chose for photography is called “Migrant Mother.” This piece was created by Dorothea Lange in 1936. I thought the artist did a great job of bringing out every detail and emotion that goes into this image. I liked how each shadow and shade of the photo makes the mother the main subject of this image, which helps the message behind this piece stand out. Although the title is a great help in determining the message behind this image, the details in the photo also helped tremendously. The details in the image told me that the mother had been going through a hard time, and she may be pondering what she can do to make the best of her current situation. In this photo, I can also tell that the mother seems to be the type of person that would do anything for her children. Photography was an important creation during the wars and the harsh times, such as this. The photos from this incredibly difficult time, shows the generations to come that many people sacrificed and fought for our country and their own. It shares the history of society.

The last style of art I choose for this blog is Surrealism. This style of art was a bit harder for me to depict, so I decided to add it to my blog to learn more about it. The image I choose for this style is called “Golconde.” Rene Magritte created this piece in 1953. In the lesson on Blackboard, I learned that this style of art was created after WWI but before WWII. I also learned that this type of art allows the artist to put what they are thinking, and create it into a unique piece. Between the different art styles that I was looking at to add into my blog, I thought this one was quite interesting and caught my attention. This style of art is different, because it made me think harder to try and interpret the image. For example, the image I choose “Golconde” looked as though men were falling out of the sky. Although I’m not quite sure what the artist exactly meant by this piece, it made me think of ideas that the artist may have meant. I thought it was also a good idea to add the building in the background. I don’t know if the building has a significant meaning to the artist, but it did help me depict the perspective of this image and helped me realize that the men were falling or floating. After reading more about this style of art, the message I took away from these different image styles is that this style of art would take the ordinary, and made them unordinary (Urton, 2019).
“Golconde”
Rene Magritte, 1953
I couldn’t find the specific location on where this piece was created, but since Magritte was from Belgium, my educated guess is that is was created in Belgium.
For the Romantic blog assignment I decided to compare Realist Style to Photography. I chose to compare and contrast these styles of art for a couple different reasons. One reason was that although both of these styles of art have their differences they also have many similarities. I learned in the lesson that the use of photography was used during the American Civil War and realist styled pieces are used to capture things such as regular activities. That stuck out to me, because both of these styles subject matters were complete opposites, in this situation, however they both capture important times of our history. I also recognized and learned through the lesson that realist art was before photography, so it was neat to learn how far art has developed from where it began.
The pieces below are examples of realist style art.
I chose both of these paintings for the realist part of my blog post because I enjoy how both of the artists have a different style of painting. In the first piece I thought that the brush stroke that the artist used was very intricate and detailed. In the second piece I also enjoyed the different strokes that the artists used, but in this painting the colors and flow of the piece are what caught my attention. They are both paintings but the great detail and the stories behind each piece, bring the image alive.
The pieces below are examples of photography in the romantic era.
I chose these two photographs because I liked how they were both different from each other The first photo stuck out to me because I enjoyed how the style allows the audience to jump back in time. Another reason I enjoyed this piece was because of the environment that the picture takes place in, the snow and horse carriages. In the second photo I thought it was really unique and clever that the photographer chose to make the focal point the mother and her baby. I like how there are only a few shades and colors in this piece, so that the colors and shades don’t take away from the image and the message it conveys. The perspective of this piece allows the audience to decipher what the photographer was trying to capture. I also really enjoy the grain that is shown in both of these images.
Photography and Realistic styled artwork are similar in the way that the artist’s intention is to make the pieces feel alive and real. With both of these styles of art, I believe that the artist is using their techniques and forms of art that they understand, to share a story with the audience. Despite the fact that both of these styles have many similarities, they also have many differences that make them unique. For example, the paintings of the realistic pieces allows the artist to express their emotions and attitudes on the subject on their piece through the different brushstrokes and even color that they chose to use. In the photography pieces, the artist is using techniques such as the lighting and exposure to determine what they find important in the piece.
The reason I chose to compare Realistic Styled art and Photography was because I like the idea that both of these styles are trying to create a story or even share a story to its viewers. As I was looking at pieces for my blog, I thought it was fascinating to see just how many different pieces, of both kinds, there really are. I also thought it was quite interesting that while looking at the different pieces I felt the emotion of each piece. For example, in the “Niagara Falls” piece I was able to personally connect to that piece since I have been lucky enough to get to visit this amazing place. Through the lesson, I found it quite intriguing that no matter what style of art it is, they all bring emotions onto its viewer.
Through the many eras of art, they each brought important history and developments to the art we know today. In the classical era lesson I learned that there were a couple of things that influenced this time period. The influences that were done Politically changed, developed our growth as people, lastly it was affected by the enlightenment, which I learned was responsible for many of the ideas that were created during this time. With the information I learned through this lesson, I chose the pictures below.
This artwork is known as, “Oath of the Horatti.” This picture drew me in because of the colors and the story that is being told within it. I believe the colors in this piece help make the important details stick out. To me, this picture is showing a tyrant that looks as if he is being defeated by his men, as the women in the background morn for this situation. However, with more research into this piece I learned that during this time there was a disagreement among the Horatii brothers and the Curatii brothers, and in this moment, the Horatti brother was prepared to die for their allegiance so they were accepting an oath (The Cave Online, 2019). This picture does a great job representing the battles that the people faced by then. Since rulings between families feuds was one of the many important influences of this era this picture represented it well. The theme represented in this picture is based on Classical antiquities. This piece was created in Rome in 1784.
I would own a copy of these piece because I think the message behind the piece portrays the important message of fighting for what you believe in. This piece is quite eye catching as well, so it would be a great piece to incorporate in a house.
This piece is called, “The Death of General Wolfe.” This piece stuck out to me because it shows that all the men are gathering around a specific thing or person. The artist, Benjamin West, also did a great job creating a background for this image. The background shows distress and chaos, which informs the readers that a battle is happening. Something else that stuck out to me was that the sky splits and seems as if its clearing after the battle, meaning that there is hope ahead. The title of this piece leads me to believe that the people in this picture are standing over General Wolfe. With the many men mourning their general and fellow fighter, it demonstrates that although they are in battle, they offer their fallen general a time of respect. I also thought it was fascinating how the men around all have different backgrounds. Benjamin made this picture in a way, where if the audience didn’t know what the backstory of this picture was, they would be able to choose how they want to interrupt the story. This picture was created in 1770 and a copy now sits in an art gallery in Canada.
Although I do enjoy this piece and learning about why it is so important to this era, I don’t see myself owning a copy of this piece. However, this piece does carry many great qualities that would allow it to fit in a house.
“The Death of General Wolfe” artist; Benjamin West
I thought that this piece was very special. “Cornelia Pointing to Her Children as Her Treasures,” shows that Cornelia really cares about her children. From the vibe I get from this picture, I feel as though Cornelia wants what’s best for her children and wants to teach them right from wrong. After reading about this piece in the lesson and online, it made the idea behind this picture very sweet. I learned that the lady thats sitting in red was gloating about items that her husband got her on his travels, but Corneila stated that her children were her treasures (Khan Academy, 2019). This represents that family was a very important aspect to many people from this era. This was painted in 1785 and is now in the “Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.”
This picture is another great example of a piece I would own from the classical era. I find beauty in this piece very important. I love how the mother, Cornelia, cherishes her children. After learning more about what the story of this picture is, I could tell how caring she is for her children. So I believe that this piece would be great for a home, to remind us that it’s not the things we have in our life that matter, but who we have in our life. This is a great piece.
The piece I found during the Baroque Era is called “The Winter Landscape with Skaters”. This piece stuck out to me because I love the scenery and the story that I get from it. I also really enjoy that I can tell how much thought and focus the artist, Hendrick Avercamp, put into every part of this piece. As stated in the attachment in the lesson on the Baroque Era, Hendrick was one of the known Dutch artists. The scenery tells a story to the audience and gives them an idea of what Amsterdam may look like during the winter time. Another reason I enjoy this piece is because there are many different activities and scenes happening in this one piece of art. When I first saw this piece it brought me excitement and joy, because it reminds me of Christmas time. I thought the presentation of this piece was done very well. I believe the backstory to this piece is personal for Avercamp. Since he was born in Amsterdam, and this piece takes place in Avercamp, I thought that this could be an important location for him (Wikipedia,2019). Avercamp brought many different details into this piece. The colors that Avercamp added, gave this piece the warm feeling that I see throughout this painting. The first thing that caught my attention, was actually the blue church. The bright blue color made the church come to the front of the picture. While reading about this art piece, I learned that this is an example of genre painting. This stuck out to me, because genre painting is something that I learned about through the lesson in class. Another note I learned while reading about this era (Wikipedia, 2019).
Another piece that I really enjoyed in this era was created by another important Dutch artist. The painting that stuck out to me is called, “The Night Watch”, which is painted by the artist is named, Rembrandt. When I first saw this piece it reminded me of a scene out of a movie, it isn’t, but the scenery made me think of it, which made me excited to research more about this picture and what it was about. This piece stuck out to me because of all the colors and details. Something that I thought was unique, was that Rembrandt chose to focus on three people in this piece, which made me think he was making the rest of the people shown, as being less significant to the artwork by having being shaded differently, and the lights above them are turned off on them. However, despite my idea that the other people in this piece were not as significant, I researched more into this artwork and I learned that the lighting was actually caused by the picture darkening too soon, I thought that was so fascinating (Visual Arts Encyclopedia, 2019). This piece is also a great example of a genre painting. While reading about this artwork, I learned that the backstory of this piece was that Rembrandt was painting a militia group (Visual Arts Encyclopedia, 2019).
In conclusion, while doing my research on how the Dutch were involved in the Baroque Era, I learned that Amsterdam, Netherlands was one of the countries that had an increase of their Merchant classes during the Baroque Era. Overtime, the merchant classes around the Netherlands became more known, and easier to classify (Visual Arts Encyclopedia, 2019). The Merchant classes were important to the people of this era, to show who had a higher rank.
While looking for a painting to write about for this blog I noticed a few similarities between the Renaissance Era and the Baroque Era. For example, throughout these paintings I noticed the use of chiaroscuro, frequently, and consistently. This art effect helps bring the important subjects of this piece to the main focus. Another similarity that I see carry over from the Renaissance Era was that a couple of the important forms of art was painting and architecture, etc.
During these two units, the Italian and Northern Renaissance, a piece that stuck out to me was the “Sistine Chapel Ceiling.” This chapel is very popular around the whole world, and it’s for this specific piece of artwork in the interior. While looking at the pictures of this incredible piece of artwork, it puts me in amazement and curiosity. The amount of time and hard work that went into this piece is shown in every intricate detail, and each section of this piece. This ceiling fresco is named as a whole, however each section on the ceiling is telling its own story. The different sections, allows the audience to take each piece as an individual, and then put it all together on the wall, at the end of the walkway. The presentation of this piece is absolutely astounding. Firstly, the fact that it’s on a ceiling is amazing but the fact that its throughout the whole chapel is even more unbelievable.
Something that stuck out to me was the great amount of detail and the many colors that were used throughout this piece. As I was reading more information about this piece I found out that this fresco was organized by the different stories from the bible (Wikipedia, 2019). Each color brought the pictures to life, and made every detail pop out. I thought it was quite fascinating that the artist, Michelangelo, worked around the beams and poles on the ceiling, and incorporated them into his piece, to separate the different stories.
Something else that caught my attention was the use of chiaroscuro. The middle piece, “The Creation of Adam,” was a great example of this especially (Wikipedia, 2019). The hands reaching out to each other, made the image pop and look as though the hands were 3-dimensional.
Since I enjoy admiring this piece so much, I would definitely own a copy. However, since this piece is so large in size, I would still enjoy just a picture of the fresco/mural. Something I would enjoy even more than a picture, is getting to see this piece in real life one day. That would be amazing and quite an experience. The backstory of this piece took place during the Italian Renaissance, which is the time when religion was an influencing matter. In the lesson of the Italian Renaissance, I also learned that it was a time that Roman ideals were very important, which I believe inspired this fresco to be created.
Including the fact that this artwork is painted inside of a chapel, this piece was, and still is very important to the reinvention of Rome by the Catholic Church. Each one of these sections has its own section from the bible, of which had a major influence on the Catholic Church. While reading an article, I found out that when the Pope returned from Rome, he told Michelangelo to paint this fresco in the chapel (Wikipedia, 2019).
Overall, this fresco of the “Sistine Chapel Ceiling,” created a new outlook for the community and allows the visitors to get a deeper understanding on just how much this church brought Rome back to life. I believe that this piece brought hope to the people of the community and around the world. I also believe that this piece showed the world just how much art influences people and the stories behind them.
An extraordinary piece of architecture that I enjoy is in the Bahamas. I don’t think many people actually know about this wonderful piece of architecture, so I decided to share it. I believe this piece of architecture will inform readers that there are so many wonderful pieces around the world, not including the most famous ones that we are already know. This specific piece of architecture is actually the main hotel on a resort. The building is called, “The Royal Towers.” As I was reading an article, I learned that this resort first opened in 1998 (Zemier, 2018, para 3).
Researching and observing this extraordinary piece of architecture excites me, and brings me so much serenity and joy. However, the fact that I have actually had the opportunity to stay in this building, makes it even more breathtaking and surreal. From the outside, to the inside, the rush of emotions continue throughout your whole body.
This building inspires me because of all the intricate details, and colors. Which reminds me to take the time to be patient, and pay close attention to all the details, from the little ones to the larger ones. For example, at dusk, the hotel lights beautifully gleam off the water. Having the opportunity to get up close to the hotel, allowed me to see each detail.
I believe the theme inside this hotel is expressed in many ways. Firstly, this hotel is surrounded by the color gold. Which makes me think of royalty and courage. Secondly, the fact that it’s based off of a mythical story adds to the theme of mysteriousness. Whenever I see a picture of this building, it fills me with happiness, and allows me to reminisce on all the memories that my family and I created at this wonderful resort.
The architecture on the outside lets the audience feel as though they jumped into a time capsule and went back in time. This piece of architecture gives off a powerful attitude. Which strengthens the structure of the building.
I actually already own a picture of this building. When my family and I were on vacation, we took several pictures of its amazing architecture.
The backstory of this architecture, is based off of the story, “The Lost City of Atlantis.” This is a popular story around the world, and there are many different opinions and beliefs on this story. This story is based during the Greek mythology period. Its about a civilization sinking under the ocean, and not being able to be found. Although, this story has many different versions, I love that it brings people hope, and curiosity to each of the readers.
I believe that each piece of architecture has its own story. Each of these unique art structures allow the readers to create a deeper understanding about the architecture. Each building has their own characteristics that help state what that building represents. A Tall, strong piece of architecture is built to last and have a solid foundation. The foundation and construction of a building is very important, because this determines just how durable it is and the expected lifetime of this piece of art.
The same goes with other art pieces. Most of the best pieces have a strong, and intriguing story behind them, making that piece even stronger.
This assignment helped me realize that art is everywhere. It allows us to see the world differently.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
What topics do you think you’ll write about?
Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
